0% Purchase Credit Cards
0% purchase credit cards are suitable for people who have no existing credit balances and want to benefit from a short term credit boost.
0% credit cards provide interest free credit for a limited introductory period (the length of which varies from card to card). This means you could make a large purchase and then have several months to pay it off before you have to start paying interest on your balance.
However, as with 0% balance transfer cards, it is important to remember that the interest free period is not permanent. So if you don't want to face paying a relatively high interest rate, you need to make sure you have cleared your balance in full before this period expires or else transfer the balance to a 0% balance transfer card.
If you think you are the likely to forget to clear your balance before the introductory offer expires, you might be better off choosing a low standard rate credit card instead of a 0% card.
